TWO THOUSAND FOUR will begin the bi-centenial of one of the most unique expeditions in the annals of American history. One of the primary reasons for the Lewis and Clark expedition's success was the creativity of the leadership. Montana AIA has begun its expedition toward the 2004 AIA Northwest and Pacific Region Conference. Along the way we will show how architects have begun and continue to be explorers, facing challenges and developing creative solutions. Come to Big Sky Country and see where the Corps of Discovery spent a great part of their time blazing the trail to the Pacific Ocean. Tour the many corps of discovery sites, including the great falls of the Missouri River, Gates of the Mountains, Lolo Pass and Pompey's Pillar. Come to the Big Sky and discover the work of contemporary architects who are leading our profession into the 21st century. Come to the Big Sky and explore new technologies that will change the face of design and construction in the coming decades. Come to the Big Sky and enjoy the Montana country that Lewis and Clark marveled and wrote about. Play golf, take a fly fishing lesson, and make a side trip to Yellowstone Park. Bring the family and stay a while. Make plans to be at Big Sky for the 2004 Northwest and Pacific Regional Conference.
